I have come to the conclusion that every time you try to escape a situation because you don’t believe in yourself – you’ll end up in a worse one.
We went to a lake and apparently if you’re not careful it can be a pretty dangerous to swim in.
Just when we decided to go diving the owner of the restaurant beside the lake told us some horrific stories about people who had drowned in the past. I changed my mind and went to the shallow end and left the diving to Nela.
I didn’t believe in myself even though I knew I am a pretty good swimmer [there is room for improvement]. It all comes back to this whole notion of being too scared to live your life.
Once I finished swimming, I realised that just beneath my feet there were four water snakes befriending me [I run faster than Bolt]. I swam a good 20 minutes with the snakes [apparently they don’t hurt you – so the locals say]. But had I known this before, I would have dived backwards – if that’s what I had to do to avoid swimming with them.
But as the famous saying goes something that you don’t know can’t hurt you [but once you find out it will terrify you].
