Londoners got a rare chance to see Labrinth perform in a sold-out one-off gig at Koko in Camden tonight.
Timothy McKenzie, better known by his stage name Labrinth, is an English singer-songwriter from Hackney.
His support acts were Jay Ell Dee and Dot Rotten. Both of them were by far less talented and captivating live acts in comparison to the main act. This was also partly due to Koko’s sound system.
Labrinth made his debut appearance on the UK chart in March 2010, when his collaboration with Tinie Tempah, “Pass Out” reached number-one. His solo singles ‘Let the Sun Shine’ and ‘Earthquake’ reached number 1 and 2 in the UK charts. His new single is ‘Last Time’, due to be released on March 11.
During the concert he performed all tracks, like the slow and moving ‘Vultures’ and the upbeat ‘Treatment’, from his new album.
Labrinth is a great live performer. His debut album ‘Electronic Earth’ will be released on 2 April 2012 by Syco. It features guest appearances from London artists Tinie Tempah and Emeli Sandé.
