One of the must dos on everyone’s list has to be afternoon tea in London. The Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane offers a traditional and classy version of English afternoon tea.
It starts off with finger sandwiches. Crusts are removed from white and brown breads and you can choose from a selection of five fillings: smoked salmon, egg, chicken, cream cheese and cucumber.
After this, you will get two small warm scones. They are served with strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream.
The final course is a selection of French pastries, like macarons.
The traditional afternoon version is £38.50 per person. Although it is a very sophisticated and posh setting, I felt slightly out of place. The age group varies more within the 30 – 60 range, excluding curious tourists.
Afternoon Tea is served five times daily, 1.15pm, 2.30pm, 3.15pm, 4.45pm and 5.15pm in The Promenade and in The Spatisserie.
