Goat restaurant review:
Let me start this post by making a confession, I’ve never dressed up for Halloween [like, NEVER]. Call me a hypocrite if you like, but I am always the first one to complain about people who don’t make an effort but the last to actually do it [I don’t understand why myself].
Now that’s out of my system, I can tell you about this really cool place in Chelsea called Goat. It’s a New York – Italian restaurant, with an upstairs bar.
The food was delicious. The cocktails were yummy. The service was great. What more can a girl ask for?
To top things up, we got invited for cocktails in Goat’s speakeasy, known as the Chelsea Prayer Room. It instantly became one of my favourite bars in London.
The restaurant:
For starters we tried the pumpkin and amaretti ravioli and the home cured sliced beef, rocket with truffled wild mushrooms. We would recommend both dishes. We really enjoyed them.
I am usually not a pizza person, but after speaking to the waitress she tempted me to order the gorgonzola, mushroom, Italian sausage and truffle oil pizza as my main dish. And I did exactly that – it was lush.
We also tried the the grilled monkfish 200g, vine tomatoes, with fennel and artichoke, which was just as tasty.
Chelsea Prayer Room:
The Chelsea Prayer Room is astonishing. It is open Thursday to Saturday and has a daily pass-code. Non-members can join for a limited two-hour slots. Prayer-book drinks menus offer cocktails with an old-school twist such as the Delicious Sour, fused with home-made marshmallow syrup.
