Roberto Piqueras presented his latest quirky, crazy and upbeat fashion collection for Winter 2012/13.
Originally from Barcelona, but now based in London, Roberto chose a street in Bethnal Green to present his line.
The brand Roberto Piqueras mixes sporty elements with fun, with colourful and crazy outfits and psychedelic patterns.
Roberto Piqueras began as a menswear collection but evolved, in the words of Piqueras, into “a species of unisex, without complexes” before he finally began to design for “women, but without really considering sex”.
The models for the show came from all cultural backgrounds and were of different ages – from 20-year-olds to a 40-year-old. This reflected the fashion line’s main concept, to break boundaries and to avoid conformity. The models wore bold make up and tattoos on their faces and bodies.
What really stood out were the shoes. They were skyscraper-high plateaus in neon green or with the Piqueras’ psychedelic pattern. The shoes were designed in collaboration with Reebok and Jeffrey Campbell.
