As you may already know (or maybe not), Google decided to roll out the next generation of the Penguin webspam algorithm. We are not going to go into too much detail because it would take forever. But we will just quickly explain what these changes mean for bloggers and the impact it could have on your blog.
Penguin 2.0 is primarily designed to penalize websites that use shady link building practices. Here are our main points:
– Up until now we’ve been told that it is essential to use keywords and key phrases throughout our posts. But this is not the case today, try not to stuff your page with them.
– You need to have quality back linking, don’t just link to a site because you think it will help you with page ranking. Just remember it’s quality over quantity now.
– Remove all the weak links from your site (we will soon write post that will teach you how to do this).
– Content really matters. Google wants to distinguishing between the great blogs and not so great ones. Next time you write a post make sure your content is spot on. Don’t just write posts because you feel like you have to.
